A faction is a private, encrypted network group. All devices in a faction can communicate securely with each other. Each faction has its own encryption keys and operates independently.

Do I need technical knowledge to set up Faction?

No. Faction is designed for zero configuration. Connect the Pod, scan the QR code with the app, and your devices are protected.

What devices can I protect with a Faction Pod?

Any device with an Ethernet connection — IP cameras, NAS devices, IoT sensors, printers, and more. The Pod sits between your device and the network.

Connectivity

Does the Pod need internet access?

Yes, the Pod WAN port needs internet access to establish its encrypted tunnel to the Faction network.

Can I use WiFi instead of Ethernet?

The Pod supports WiFi but Ethernet is recommended for reliability. WiFi configuration is handled during the adoption process.

What happens if my internet goes down?

Local devices behind the Pod continue to work normally on the LAN. The encrypted tunnel reconnects automatically when internet is restored.
